+KDE-5_18.12 is meant to be installed on top of Slackware -current.
It will *replace* any version of KDE 4 you might have installed!
The Plasma 5 Desktop has gotten rid of its Qt4 legacy. Since the release of
Applications 17.12 there's nothing left which is based on kdelibs4.
What is the NEWS in this batch of updates:
+- Some note-worthy changes in the 'deps' section: the 'qt5' package was
+ updated to 5.11.3, the 'qt5-webkit' package was recompiled against this
+ new Qt5, and 'libdbusmenu-gtk' was updated to being it in sync with the
+ package in my regular repository.
+ Note that I did not update Qt5 to the latest 5.13.0 release. I want to
+ wait with that and first test it with the upcoming Applications 18.12.0.
+ Note that I forgot to mention the new 'hyphen' package last time. It is
+ a new dependency for the 'qt5-webkit' package which received a big version
+ bump last time.
+- I recompiled all of the 'deps/telepathy' packages to remedy library
+ linking issues.
- Frameworks update is a stability release, see:
- One framework was added, 'syndication' which used to be part of KDEPIM
- so effectively no package was added to the set.
-- Plasma 5.13.5 is an incremental upgrade in the Plasma Desktop 5.13
- release cycle, bringing important stability and performance fixes.
- See https://www.kde.org/announcements/plasma-5.13.5.php
- You may want to read about all the new features in Plasma 5.13 here:
-- Applications 18.08.1 is the first stability update for this quarter's
- applications set.
- See https://www.kde.org/announcements/announce-applications-18.08.1.php .
- The 'kpat' package is no longer present because it requires new
- dependencies (fc-solver and its deps) that Slackware cannnot provide.
-- In applications-extra I have upgraded 'okteta', 'ktorrent', 'kstars',
- 'krusader' and the KDE Development packages 'kdevelop', 'kdev-python'
- and 'kdev-php'.
+- Plasma 5.14.4 is an incremental upgrade in the Plasma Desktop 5.14
+ release cycle, bringing stability and performance fixes.
+ See https://www.kde.org/announcements/plasma-5.14.4.php
+ You may want to read about all the new features in Plasma 5.14 here:
+- Applications 18.08.3 is a stability and bugfix update.
+ See https://www.kde.org/announcements/announce-applications-18.08.3.php .
+- In plasma-extra I have upgraded 'kdeconnect-framework' and 'wacomtablet'.
+ I also removed the old 'kde-wallpapers' package, it is a left-over
+ from the KDE4 era and Plasma5 has its own wallpapers in
+ 'plasma-workspace-wallpapers' now.
+- In applications-extra I have upgraded 'kdevelop', 'kdev-php', 'kdev-python'
+ and 'kmymoney'.

Technically that makes them redundant in the above listing, however I still

The phonon and poppler packages were extended so that they now support
Qt5 as well as Qt4.
Note that the SBo version of 'frei0r-plugins' package is called 'frei0r'.
