Partimage daemon for Slackware
==============================

This package contains the partimage client/server programs.
Both binaries (partimage/partimaged) are statically compiled, so they should
run on about every box you own.
The binaries are built with SSL support, and the partimage client needs
to supply a valid username/password to the partimage server.
Read the manpage for partimagedusers to understand how to validate a system
account for the partimage server.

SSL and client logons
---------------------
If you do not want mandatory SSL connections and client logons, you will have
to re-compile this package from source, since a SSL-enabled server will not
accept non-SSL client connections, and a server that is configured for
user logins, will not accept login-less connections.

In partimage.SlackBuild, set 'USESSL=no' and/or 'USERLOGONS=no' and then run
the script to generate a new package.

SSL certificate for partimaged
------------------------------
If for some reason the SSL certificate for a SSL-enabled partimaged server
was not created, has been deleted or has expired, or you just want to create
a new certificate, use the 'makecertificate.sh' script in the doc directory
to do so. The daemon will refuse to start if the certificate is missing.
